For those who would like to try out Linux but don't bother because of the hassles of installing and typing out long commands on the console. Try this. Take any regular pen drive, go here and follow the three simple steps. And voila, you can now run linux on any computer/laptop/netbook (there should be a single word for this) which has a bootable USB Drive (hint: most modern systems do).
The long list of distros doesn't include size information. And if you are like me trying to run linux NOW once you read how easy it does, here a headsup. "Damn Small Linux" and Puppy are the smallest downloads, around 50MB each. I am using Ubuntu 9.10, one of the heaviest downloads btu then it has the whole shebang.
So, go ahead, take her for a spin!
